About WAVE
Our HERstory
While on deployment in 2018, a group of Soldiers began meeting to discuss ways to overcome the challenges of being away from their main support system. These empowerment meetings started a bond of encouragement and mentorship. They hosted workshops and programs. The need for WAVE grew stronger when group members dispersed to homes across the nation because readjustment became very difficult. Battle buddy checks were essential to prevent being another statistic of suicide, divorce and long-term mental health raging wars.
